ONE OF the main reasons why this website came about was our desire to rerelease all of Verbal Assault's recordings, creating a "definitive" discography. As most of you know, our music has been very hard to track down these days.

Volume One: The Masses & Learn is the first CD in the series. The Masses was our first, cassette-only demo, and Learn was our first EP that we originally did for Positive Force Records. Neither have ever been available on CD.

Volume One contains digitally remastered versions of all of the songs, plus a short, untitled instrumental track that inadvertently go left off of Learn (and eventually found its way onto a Positive Force compilation LP, Another Shot For Bracken).

The full color, 24-page booklet that comes with the CD is packed with old photos and flyers, plus liner notes by Christopher Jones. Our goal isn't just to document the "early days" of VA; it's also a tribute to the '80's Rhode Island scene that was crucial for us when we first got together. RIX forever!

Volume One was released on Mendit Records. Started in the summer of 1988 by an good friend of ours, Dave Stein, Mendit put out both Old School stuff like Underdog and Token Entry, as well as newer bands like Reinforce, Nine Lives, and Under The Gun. Though Dave hasn't been able to keep Mendit going, you can still get copies of Volume One through the link below, and you can contact Lumberjack directly regarding distribution info.
